About PTE Core
PTE Core is a computer-based English test that assesses your general speaking, writing,
reading and listening skills in a single test. You take the test in a small, friendly test center
environment in just two hours.
Choose PTE Core if you are applying for a migration or work visa to Canada.
You can also choose PTE Core if you are applying for Canadian citizenship.
Test Format
PTE Core is a new test accepted by IRCC for Canadian immigration, this test contains all
four modules in a integrated way. PTE core is a computer based test,
which can be performed at any dedicated exam centres for PTE.
This section will test your speaking and writing skills in around 50 minutes.
This section will test your reading skills in around 30 minutes.
This section will test your listening skills in around 30 minutes.
Scoring
PTE Core includes 19 question types to assess your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Scores are based on the complexity of the question. Your overall score is graded between 10–90.
